Finger Lime / フィンガーライム

Finger lime (aka. caviar lime) is about the size of little finger and has been popularised as a gourmet bushfood. It is originated in Australia, and one California farmer is elaborately growing the trees. Because it takes five years from planting to first crop, and it produces only 5lb from one tree, it is used as a valuable ingredient at high-class restaurant.

小指ほどの大きさのフィンガーライムはブッシュキャビアとも呼ばれ、中から美しい小さな粒が続々と出てきます。
もともとオーストラリアが原産国ですが、カリフォルニアに一軒だけある農家が丹精込めて生産しています。植樹してから最初の収穫まで5年かかり、現在1本の木から2、3k­g程度しか収穫できないため、高級食材としてレストランなどで多く使われています。

We have enjoyed harvesting the new soy bean crop with our guests.

Summer is the season for soy beans.
We tasted the boiled soy beans right after we plucked.
The taste of fresh beans was so delicious!!


枝豆収穫の体験を行いました!
(8.28.2011)

夏は枝豆が旬。
たくさん収穫したあとにすぐに茹でて、いただきました。
採れたての味はまた格別ですね。
